During the NGOs Synergies Booster +30 volunteers from 14 local NGOs gathered @ Goethe-Institut.  

Umbrella Initiatives ⛱️ is busy organizing training workshops, sorting donations, and coordinating volunteers to assist these wonderful NGOs!

Yesterday we had the first NGOs Legal Needs Assessment meeting where Black Society, Namibian Animal Welfare Association (NAWA), International Women’s Association Namibia (IWAN), Ann Pads, Namibian Heart Foundation, WaDaRee Care, Marembo Charity Foundation, Back to School Namibia & Umbrella Initiatives shared their legal assistance needs with Steve Gray, a lecturer at Michigan University (USA) and former Fulbright Scholar in Namibia (among many other roles).

Through Umbrella Initiatives ⛱️ we promote collaborative work and support non-profit organizations working for people in need. This was the first of many future meetings where we will meet to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and do more together! 

Thank you, Steve, and all the non-profit organizations that took the time to explore non-profit organizations' legal needs together and potential solutions.

During this gathering, we had a 5-10 minutes presentation from each of the participating NGOs + Q&A.  This evening had the following NGOs:

• 3rd  International Women's Association Namibia (IWAN)

• 4th Ascent Empowerment and Development Foundation

• 5th Ann Pads

• 6th Black Society 

• 7th Back to School Namibia 

• 8th Mammadu

• 9th Umbrella Initiatives

The mottos of the event were: 

• If you want to help but do not know how or with whom to do it, this is your opportunity to find an answer! 

• If you heard about us but want to know more, this is your opportunity to learn more! 

• If you have no idea about NGOs' work, this is a great start! You met wonderful individuals doing amazing work in Namibia! 

The event was FREE and it was an AMAZING opportunity to meet other NGOs, and also to recruit potential volunteers and core members for Umbrella Initiatives. It was a great success! Thank you Back to School Namibia for inviting us!
